From pen and paper: How EMG Maersk transformed their stock integrity process
March 11, 2026

Introduction
EMG Maersk, one of Maersk's newest warehouses operating across 750,000 square feet of bulk, wide aisle and VNA space, had already deployed Dexory to build real-time warehouse intelligence across the site. To go further, the team extended DexoryView's capability to handheld terminals on the shop floor - putting live inventory data and discrepancy resolution directly in the hands of the operatives closest to the stock.

The challenge
Despite capturing daily ground truth throughout the warehouse, what happened after those scans remained manual and inefficient. Discrepancies were written down, passed to admins, logged on desktop systems, and often required drivers to physically re-check locations before anything could be resolved. What could have been fixed in minutes regularly became a half-day job, burning through time, manpower and patience across the team.
"Before we got to the handhelds, we were basically pen and paper," explains one of the operations leads on site. "It was getting a list, dropping the pilots, getting the locations, doing all the checks, then allowing it to go back up to the admins who would then do all the filling in, doing all the checks and stuff, and then completing it."
The solution
DexoryView was extended to handheld terminals on the shop floor, enabling operatives to resolve discrepancies live, standing in front of the stock at the exact pick face or reserve location where the problem existed. Operatives gained access to real-time reality, transaction histories and images of past location states - giving them the operational context to make confident decisions without escalating every query to the admin team. The shift removed the constant back-and-forth between the warehouse floor and the office, empowering operatives to work independently throughout the day.
"It really empowers the operatives to be more independent. They have to rely less on the admins and somebody using a desktop view on a computer. They have more ability throughout the day to use DexoryView if they need to do a difficult count, if they need to get previous transaction histories, like images of past locations to see how things have changed."

The benefit

12 hours saved per week
Admin bottlenecks, unnecessary warehouse movement and delays between identifying and resolving issues all eliminated.

Live discrepancy resolution at the pick face
Operatives resolve issues in real time at the exact location, replacing a multi-step paper and desktop process.

Increased operative independence and empowerment
Teams no longer rely on admins for routine checks, gaining the freedom and trust to manage tasks directly from the shop floor.
