How Dexory’s data intelligence transforms peak fulfilment

November 27, 2025

In a world where next-day delivery has become the norm, warehouses are under more pressure than ever. E-commerce growth, labour shortages, and rising customer expectations have created a perfect storm. Social media conversations now openly highlight delivery performance. As a result, maintaining accuracy and speed is essential to protecting customer trust.

This pressure is now affecting even well-run operations.

Experts refer to this as the “warehouse chaos cycle”. Fragmented data and reactive decisions create growing operational issues across operations. This loop also limits the real time visibility essential for strong fulfillment operations.

During our latest fireside chat, industry leaders Sofia Rivas Herrera and Todd Boone shared their views on the industry. Small insights can lead to informed decisions and stronger operations. They also help  warehouses adapt under pressure to support enhanced customer experiences.

The new fulfillment reality

Post-pandemic shifts in shopping behaviour have redefined what “fast and efficient” fulfilment means. Warehouses now handle more SKUs, tighter delivery windows, and higher accuracy requirements. Seasonal peaks such as Black Friday and Christmas only magnify these pressures, stretching already limited resources.

“Even small mistakes in fulfillment can cause huge ripple effects,” Boone explained. “A single misplaced pallet or inaccurate count can slow down the entire supply chain, impact profits, and frustrate customers.”

The issue, he added, is that traditional warehouse visibility simply can’t keep pace with modern fulfilment demands. Manual inventory checks and partial scans leave managers constantly fighting fires instead of preventing them. This reduces operational efficiency and creates unnecessary risks for customer service.

Visibility: The missing link

Most warehouses still rely on manual or partial cycle counts, which only provide snapshots of the inventory landscape. These incomplete views make it difficult to plan, predict, or allocate labour effectively.

Without accurate, real-time data, managers end up making decisions in the dark. Over time, this creates a “snowball effect,” as issues accumulate, workflows slow down, and teams lose confidence in their data and business decisions.

“You start with incomplete data, which leads to reactive decisions, which in turn create more errors and bottlenecks,” Boone said. “Before long, teams spend more time firefighting than focusing on improvement.”

Labour shortages compound the operational pressures already in place. During peak retail seasons, the strain on warehouse staff intensifies. Temporary workers often lack the training and experience to maintain accuracy in fast-paced environments.

“It’s not just about finding people,” Boone said. “It's about empowering the people you already have. It also means giving them the tools to perform better through clearer data flows and real time insights."

How Dexory breaks the cycle

Dexory’s solution is simple yet powerful. Autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) scan the warehouse each day and capture a complete, accurate snapshot of inventory.

“Instead of sampling small parts of the warehouse, we scan everything,” Boone explained. “That gives our customers full visibility. They keep clear oversight of all inventory, its location, and any items that may be missing.”

Dexory's analytics platform, DexoryView, automatically receives the data, creating real-time digital twins of warehouse operations. This level of data integration supports stronger risk management and more effective problem solving.

“With this level of visibility, managers can make proactive, data-driven decisions," Boone said. "They no longer have to react only after problems occur".

By unifying operational information with relevant customer data, warehouses gain a clearer picture of demand patterns and can adjust fulfilment operations with greater precision.

Measurable impact across operations

The outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach. Across Dexory’s customer base, sites have seen:

  • 14% increase in pallet accuracy
  • WMS errors reduced × 50 in one week
  • 219% ROI, payback in under 6 months

Boone mentioned that the implementation is also non-disruptive. “We can deploy quickly with minimal integration," he said. "This means warehouses can keep running without stopping operations or overhauling their systems."

These improvements strengthen the warehouse bottom line, delivering a clear competitive advantage.

From reactive to predictive operations

With continuous data collection, Dexory’s customers are now moving beyond visibility to true predictive intelligence rooted in predictive analytics and modern data science.

“Our robots scan entire facilities every day, building a rich dataset that reveals long-term patterns,” Boone said. “We can identify congestion zones, track slotting efficiency, and compare performance across multiple sites.”

This level of insight helps warehouses shift from reactive firefighting to proactive op. It also sets the foundation for predictive decision-making and stronger strategic decision frameworks.

As Boone summed it up, “We’re helping customers reverse the snowball effect. Instead of chaos compounding over time, data becomes the driver of continuous improvement.”

A data revolution in motion

Dexory recently passed a major milestone: more than 500 million warehouse scans. This achievement shows the scale and adoption of its technology across the logistics industry.

With every scan, the company’s vision of a smarter, data-driven warehouse ecosystem becomes more tangible. The result is improved customer outcomes, more stable processes, and visibility that fuels data visualization and predictive modelling.

“In the end, visibility isn’t just about knowing where your stock is,” Boone concluded. “It’s about giving every warehouse the intelligence it needs to operate with confidence, efficiency, and agility," he said. "This matters even as the world continues to move faster.”
