DexoryView pays for itself in under 6 months, says Forrester study
April 29, 2025
How much impact can warehouse automation really deliver?
To help logistics and supply chain leaders answer that question, we commissioned Forrester Consulting to conduct a Total Economic Impact™ (TEI) study on DexoryView, our warehouse data platform. The study, based on in-depth interviews with DexoryView customers across 3PL and logistics organisations, explores the measurable financial and operational value generated by implementing our technology.
The results speak volumes. Forrester found that a composite organisation representative of interviewed customer with experience using DexoryView could achieve a 219% return on investment (ROI) over three years, with payback in under six months. The platform delivers quantifiable benefits through real-time inventory visibility, reduced manual processes, and improved fulfilment performance.

What is the study based on?
Forrester built a composite model representing a global third-party logistics (3PL) provider with multiple warehouse sites, based on interviews with real Dexory customers. These companies had previously relied on manual inventory checks and time-consuming audits, and were facing challenges such as high labour costs, inefficient space use, and inconsistent inventory data.
After implementing DexoryView, they reported significant changes. By using autonomous robots to scan inventory daily and feed real-time data into the DexoryView platform, warehouses were able to reduce the burden of manual counting, improve the accuracy of stock data, and optimise warehouse performance.
Key outcomes from the TEI study
Across a three-year timeframe, the composite organisation saw benefits totalling $4.3 million in present value. These included:
- A 30% reduction in stock holding time, allowing for better space utilisation and increased revenue potential per warehouse.
- Dramatic improvements in inventory accuracy—from once-monthly manual checks to daily reconciliations with 99.9% precision.
- A reduction in lost pallet investigations, which previously consumed days or even weeks of labour, now cut down to minutes.
- Fewer audit disruptions, as DexoryView automatically generates accurate, up-to-date warehouse reports.

Importantly, automation didn’t mean eliminating jobs, it meant shifting people to higher-value, less physically demanding roles. Many of the interviewed companies reallocated warehouse staff from cycle counting to other functions, improving employee experience and retention.
Why this matters now
In today’s environment of increasing warehouse complexity, rising customer expectations, and cost pressures, operational visibility is no longer a nice-to-have. It’s a must. This independent Forrester Consulting study shows that investing in automated, real-time inventory visibility improves efficiency but also delivers a measurable return.
And quickly.
