Introduction

DENSO Manufacturing UK (DMUK), a global mobility supplier developing advanced technology and components for nearly every vehicle make and model, partnered with Dexory to gain comprehensive oversight of its stock and storage operations. Operating in a just-in-time environment where stock inaccuracies can immediately impact production lines, DENSO needed a solution to monitor and fix inaccuracies and secure thorough control over stock.

The challenge

Ensuring comprehensive oversight of stock and storage operations is critical in a manufacturing environment. Stock-taking is a labour-intensive and time-consuming task, and inaccuracies can have an immediate and profound impact on production lines - all the way to stopping manufacturing entirely.

The solution

Dexory introduced autonomous robots to scan the entire warehouse, building a digital twin for real-time warehouse intelligence and insight into the storage of goods. The robot navigates aisles to check each rack location, identifying empty locations and locating pallets of components in real-time. By comparing data collected in the warehouse with existing WMS stock records, DexoryView reconciles inconsistencies and closes the data loop - ensuring zero-error procurement with no disruptions to the production line.
