Fostering an environment of open communication encourages team members to share their perspectives and insights, enhancing the overall quality of decision-making.

Tenfold reduction in pallet location time

The time required to locate misplaced pallets was reduced tenfold, with re-checks for discrepancies eliminated entirely.

4% improvement in inventory accuracy

The centre saw a 4% improvement in inventory accuracy within just two months of deployment.

Throughput scaled from 150 to 10,000 locations per hour

Automation of processes led to a significant increase in operational speed across the DC.

Daily wall-to-wall decision support

What was once an annual wall-to-wall inventory check can now be completed daily, drastically improving responsiveness and operational control.

Introduction

Maersk and iB Cargo partnered to optimise the Bolintin-Deal distribution centre (DC) in Bucharest, Romania, serving one of the largest global furniture and interior decoration companies. Faced with the challenge of maximising resource utilisation and improving operational efficiency, the teams leveraged DexoryView's advanced physical AI and warehouse intelligence platform.

“Embracing the latest advancements, Maersk continues to drive efficiency, enhance sustainability, and deliver exceptional value to its customers while shaping the future of global trade.” – Dragoș Dumitrescu, Country Manager at Maersk Romania

The challenge

The Bolintin-Deal DC was tasked with meeting the high demands of its end customers, while navigating two key challenges.

First, this project marked the first collaboration between Maersk and iB Cargo in Romania, making it crucial to establish a robust operational process from the outset.

Second, the DC needed to streamline its use of space and resources - with efficient shelf utilisation, accurate decision support, and quick response to operational needs all critical for success.

The solution

To address these challenges, Maersk and iB Cargo implemented DexoryView at the Bolintin-Deal DC. An autonomous robot named Neo was deployed to provide real-time reality across over 100,000 pallet locations daily, navigating wide, narrow and hard-to-reach aisles with full coverage.

DexoryView's intelligence layer delivered operational context through in-depth analytics, identifying bottlenecks in put-away and picking, while volumetric analysis provided ground truth on pick-face errors, over-picking, and replenishment needs.
